Assessment
A thorough & collaborative assessment is important as it provides information regarding a child's area of needed support. Assessment procedures can include standardized assessment, language samples, parent interview, formal observation, etc.
Language Therapy
Language therapy targets receptive and expressive skills such as following directions, formulating sentences, organizing thoughts, and other executive functioning skills.
Early Intervention
Early intervention services serve children up to three years old. Therapy takes a strong play-based approach to support emerging expressive and receptive language skills. Parent/caregiver education is provided extensively to help carry over of language facilitating techniques in the home.
Articulation Therapy
Articulation therapy addresses individual sound errors and/or phonological error patterns in order to increase overall intelligibility. Evidence based techniques are used to retrain the oral muscles to produce sounds as expected.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication(AAC)
AAC support services are essential for individuals who use AAC devices or communication tools to ensure effective utilization of these tools, thereby enhancing their communication experience.
Social Communication
Social communication therapy instills confidence to succeed in social settings, fostering meaningful connections with others. Therapy supports functional social communication skills focusing on strengths, without the goal to mold neurodiverse individuals to "typical expectations."
